UNICA School for Autism
(November 17, 2015)UNICA School for Autism is a Public Benefit organization, which provides affordable, specialized education to learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder between the ages of 3 and 18. Situated in Menlo Park, the school caters for 107 learners annually. They have a Christmas Market every Year which is now in its 30th year. The Unica market has one aim – to raise funds for the cause of Autism. Crafters and exhibitors from all over South Africa gather for this fair. If you wish to finish your Christmas shopping, find special gifts for loved ones, and do your bit for charity too, this is the perfect place to visit.
Linda phoned BigChess a few Weeks ago looking for a chess set to borrow in Pretoria, we put her in touch with a school nearby who had bought a BigChess set, but unfortunately they have two pieces missing. Linda then phoned us back, desperate, as the market is a fundraising event, to rent a set would cost them too much money. BigChess decided to lend them a set for 14 days free of charge as we thought it is a worthwhile cause. Linda was very grateful and looked after the set like it was her own.
